As I said on the home page, I am a Gedling man, having lived in Carlton and Gedling for 23 years, since my marriage to Jan. I have done this page to connect with local people, to promote local businesses that you recommend, and have a bit of a chat. You may have noticed we now advertise in the Gedling parish magazine, of which I am distribution manager. I am also a bell ringer at All Hallows, so you may see, and will certainly hear me there! A member of Gedling mens fellowship, and Gedling "Old Boys", I am sure quite a few know me already.
If you fancy a go at bellringing, find your nearest tower, and speak to the captain. Remember, each time you hear bells being rung for a wedding, or service, it is a team of people, volunteers, not a recording! All Hallows, Gedling bellringers are led by John Rigby, who can be contacted on 9797415
A subject of great interest to me is the future of the Gedling Colliery site. This site is becoming a very good wildlife haven, with many skylarks especially taking up residence. I hope that the nature reserve/park aspect of its development is taken seriously in each stage of development. I have started a photo diary of the site, which I will post on here.
