This LightBody has been developed with local authorities, as well as contractors in mind, and the first three have gone into service at Notts County Council. The caged model has gone into service at Rushcliffe Borough Council where Bob Yarnall, and driver Paul are more than pleased with the vehicle. It will be seen around Rushcliffe as Paul carries out his street cleaning duties. Notice the teal wash unit, which has been incorporated into the body, saving the operative bending down to chassis level.
Firstly, weighing just 400kg, (500kg with cage etc) the body gives a payload allowance of 1400kg on its Ford Transt chassis. This body, designed and built exclusively by LightBody Structures Ltd, is available direct, or as a complete vehicle from Sandicliffe, our local Ford dealer. The base body is a light but very secure platform, which is designed to carry lawnmowers etc weighing up to 1000KG. It has lashing rings, and under-floor tubs which can be converted to storage as standard. The rear sides and light panels are fixed, and the front has aluminium dropsides.
The bodies in the photos have various options, including gantry, centre board, powered tailgate and front cage storage. All these bodies are supplied fully painted in one solid colour of your choice, and the rear ramp is zinc plated and powder-coated for maximum durability.
The floor has an aluminium over-lay. Every body has the under-floor tubs each side-front, which can be top or side accessed if required.

This body can also be modified for carrying light diggers or plant up to 1,000kgs. It can have secure storage and other modifications to suit any particular application.
