We have (October 2009) built Richard a LightBody luton dropwell, made of the plastic, all welded panels. Having weighed his new, and previous Transits, the new LightBody one has proved to weigh a considerable 300kgs less than his aluminium one!! On a 3.5ton chassis, this is a huge capacity increase, and must contribute to measurable fuel cost reductions.
Remember, too that these bodies are expected to have a life of at least 15 years, and can be recycled. Surely it makes sense that NBC LightBody is indeed `The future in Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilding`.
